Student Senate

What is the Student Senate?

We're a group of passionate leaders from public schools across the Halton District School Board. We meet once a month to provide the student perspective on board issues and to voice the questions and concerns of Halton students. The Student Trustees relay these perspectives to the Board of Trustees to ensure that students are being represented. Each year, we also organize and run the Halton Youth Leadership Symposium, a conference for Halton students.

My name is Aigoje Ayodele and I am your Student Senator for this school year. Just a bit about myself I am 14 year old and I love to play video games but I'm also passionate about the schools community and the people in it I believe that everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves so that's why I don't let people down I also give them a chance I also think that people shouldn't be disrespected because of their skin color or race and I can relate to being disrespected a lot of times so if you have anything you wanna ask me anything you can my emails are open for anyone to see.

My name is Manahil Asad and I am one of your Student Senators for this school year. A bit about myself is that: my hobbies are reading, singing, and playing volleyball. I’m also a huge fan of marvel and kpop. I’d like to start off by mentioning the fact that becoming a Student senator is a real honour to me, and I hope I can live up to everyone’s expectations. I believe every student, no matter what religion, race, gender, or sexuality they are, deserves a chance to voice their thoughts and be respected. I want each and every one of you to feel accepted in our community, and to express yourselves freely. I’d like to point out that I am always there for anyone who needs it, whether you have a suggestion for anything or you just need someone to talk to. The last thing I’d like to say is that no matter what your concern or complaint is, feel free to share it with me, and I will do my best to make sure your opinions are known.

Thank you!
